This is one of those where there is no information with the video. I don’t know if it is old or new or where it is from. It was posted on LiveLeak.com earlier today. Feel free to fill me in.

    OK Dave, I think you’re being a little over the top on the “safety” aspect….didn’t you see the traafic cone in the foreground? I think they had it covered…………..OMG

    Just a guess, but ethanol + static electricity generated from the sloshing makes sense.

    My theory on this explosion is;

    The steel tank with limited amount of product in it has been laying on its side for a good part of the day. This allowed for the side & bottom of the tank to be heated by the sun.

    Once they started rolling the “Steel” tank with “Steel” chains. The small amount of product contacts the heated area of the tank causing a low pressure vent to open at the same time the “Steel on Steel” contact slipped causing a spark.

    How could there be a combustible atmosphere in the tank?

    In the country where this took place they don’t us vapor recovery and have to open the dome every time they unload.
    This allows for oxygenated atmosphere to enter the tank increasing the flammable percentages in the tank.

    Just a thought… I could be wrong.
