PA Volly,

You left a very nice comment, but I can't run it because of one word (and I am not allowed to edit it). If you want to try again I will be glad to use you great thoughts. It gave me a laugh.

Road Doctor and Gordo,

Thank you both for the nice comments. I will try not to let them go to my head.

Much happiness and health in the new year.

And Gordon, laying low today with the family at an undisclosed location.

Dave,

Thanks for what you do. You have excellent coverage on some of the most relevant stories in Fire/EMS. It's a daily stop for me to see what is going on. Thanks again...

Dave,

Interesting and informative stories coupled with good journalism. Thank you for your efforts. It always amazes me that this site is constantly vetted and updated by you around the clock. Your even tone when responding to scathing comments is appreciated (as much as the fact that you leave them up on the site). Thank you for allowing the good, the bad, and the ugly posts to stay.

I look forward to more old fashioned journalism, but I do hope that the Statter family finds a way to take a holiday this year.

Peace and joy to all, and fewer LODDs in the New Year.

Thank you Bill and Rhett, two of the great thinkers in the fire service blogging community (as opposed to a surly hack like me).

Hook, you are certainly correct about the most important. This was just the most popular as people spoke with their mouse.

But it is encouraging that a few LODDs, some close calls and truly heroic moments had a very good showing in the top 20 and it just wasn't what some have called the Jerry Springer side of STATter911.com.

Happy New Year to all,

Dave

The fact that the Kyle Wilson report, now three years old, was one of your most viewed speaks volumes about the impact and department can have on others when they share such a detailed after-action report. It also shows the contribution that fire service blogs can make in the dissemination of that information.
