Firefighter Close Calls alerted us to this firevideo.net clip. This was a basement fire almost two weeks ago at 4855 South Paulina Street. Four firefighters were hurt. Click here to read more about the fire.

    This video again highlights the need to vent ahead of the line. The article states that the fire was knocked down by firefighters prior to the backdraft; the video shows the backdraft occurring shortly after firefighters vent the rear of the structure. This would indicate that the fire attack took place before adequate venting was performed.

    Vent ahead of the line, pay attention to smoke color and movement.

    I hope that all of the Brothers who were involved are okay and able to return to work quickly.
