Read more and listen to dispatch audio from this fire
This video is from that controversial fire in Stamford, Connecticut where the Long Ridge Fire Department is being criticized for canceling mutual aide companies before arriving on the scene. With the long standing issues over Stamford’s fire protection, we recognize it is possible some many find more to the motivation for posting this video to YouTube than meets the eye. But, as usual, I will let you be the judge.

Ya, What’s the most effective way to put a fire out?
Remove ALL of the “Chief Officers!”
I remember a firefighter from FDNY speaking on attic fires, described how he would take the line and extend it forward and whip the line in a clockwise motion and “give it (the fire) a quick douche”
This brings a whole new meaning to that tactic.
CHAOS – Chief has arrived on scene. Was he wearing the standard issue chiefs nomex/teflon short sleeve t shirt and pants combo?
I am curious as to what PPE was going to do for him if he was wearing it. Anyone dumb enough to stand in front of a masterstream, is going to get knocked on their division C, PPE or not. More proof that white helmets kill brain cells.
I love Chiefs they give some much comic value to a fire scene.
Higher Rank in this case doesn’t necessarily make one more intelligent.
If this is the Incident Commander, he’s Not in the Proper Position,at the Command Vehicle, unless he’s one of those “Roving ‘IC’s”.
Not a good example to his firefighters about wearing PPE.
Why did they go defensive? Why were they using a master stream?
Why am I not surprised considering all the other BS that went on with this job, this department should hang their heads in shame, I hope that Chief is the same Chief who made the call to cancel all other units….what a fool, thank god i don’t live in their district!!
Fireground rule #46: Always be friends with the pump operator.
I wonder if 712 got the bath after ins inteligent command decision.
