When I first saw this picture earlier today on Doug Walton’s HowardFire.net website, I knew I wanted to steal it. It is from Monday morning’s three-alarm fire north of Laurel, Maryland in Howard County. Two people were rescued from the 5:00 AM fire in the 9100 block of Blues Alley. Click here for details from Doug about the fire.

The picture, and the one below, shot 18 seconds later, are by Jim Codespote from Laurel VFD in Prince George’s County. Click here to see Jim’s series of pictures from the fire. Thanks Jim and Doug.

Great shots! Question… was the roof ever opened up? I’m surprised the fire did not extend significantly into the cockloft.

and what’s even funnier is that the rescue’s were made by PG849 not howard county units. But in howard’s defense the first arriving ladder truck was from PG.

Actually the rescues were made by members from Rescue Engine 62, PG 49, and Howard Tower 10. And just a question, why is it funny that the first due rescue squad made a rescue? In my world thats their job!!! Remember a good fireman doesn’t talk about what he does, he just does it.
