This may be one of the more dramatic fire videos I have ever seen. Watch it from beginning to end. It will be worth your time.
Let’s give credit to Jason Poremba at Firefighter Spot for posting this one (Jason thanks his friend in Holland, Arnold Van Leeuwen for sending it his way).
It is apparently from Spain, but there is no indication when it was taken (the creases in the tape as the clip begins indicates it is likely old). There is a lot going on in this video and probably some very good lessons.

The flashover was very fast and the impact on the firefighters who were inside is understandable — the big question is what changed to virtually stop the fire growth and flashover movement.
There appear to be no high volume steams in operation that knock down the fire nor has the building vented between the fire origin and the firefighters to relieve the pressure. It would be very interesting to learn from the fire agency what happened.
That’s definitely an old fire video. I would say seventies or eighties in a rural Spanish area. Little Fire protection, probably small crews.
Large streams were probably not possible due to limited water supply. That guy (or at least his gear) got burnt the heck out of, compare his to the firefighter that helped raise the ladder.
Was that P.G. County?
Those spainiards took a hell of a whoopin in there. Kudos to the civilians for helping out, it looks like there was a severe shortage of manpower there. Its amazing how fast conditions appeared to change here. Any more info would be great.
The video is from a rural area in Catalunya near Barcelona, from the language (Catalan) and the title on the back of the jackets (Bombers).
Great video! From the rapid fire growth you wonder… did the fire hit some kind of fuel source (oil tank?) and take off? Or was the fire well involved but confined to an area until a door was opened so it could then flash down the hall, etc. I also wonder what kind of hoselines they are using, and what the GPM on them are… they look small and the streams very weak. Feel badly for the firemen… those ears looked pretty cooked.
To take a guess it looked to be some type of farm building so maybe the quick growth of the fire an flash over was the result of corn, wheat or some kind of dust that in the air an covering everything in the place, From all the soot on the guys who bailed you can see there wasn’t a total burn off. So instead of an explosion you got a flash over lucky for them.
I looks like a Peee Geeee County operation. No staffing and a bunch of Chief Officers running around looking like the citizens.
