Firefighter Chance Zobel.

Grant Mishoe at SConFire.com is the first with new developments in the weekend crash that took the life of Firefighter Chance Zobel in Columbia, South Carolina and critically injured Firefighter Larry Irving.

According to The State, 34-year-old Neida Ortega, charged with causing the collision on I-20, is in the United States illegally and is now facing deportation proceedings. The firefighters were putting out a brush fire along the highway.

Here’s more from The State:

Neida Ortega.

“She acknowledged that she was not in this country legally,” said S.C. Highway Patrol Col. Kenny Lancaster.
“Federal officers from ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) went to her house before she left for work,” he said. She did have a license, but it was from Mexico, said Lancaster. “She said she had lived here 10 years.”

Keep checking SConFire.com for the latest developments and details on the funeral for Chance Zobel.

All of these Criminal Illegals should be run out of this Country immediately!! The County where I live is over run with them and they are a huge drain on emergency services and social programs that we taxpayers are paying for. People need to wake up before our Country is taken from us by illegal criminals! Prayers for the firefighters family.

She strikes and kills this kid while driving without a license, and she’s gonna het away with it/deported?! Are you f—ing kidding me?!

Charge her with vehicular manslaughter, sentence her to prison and then deport her if and when she gets out of prison.

    This is s double tragedy.

The government will look at this and their way of fixing it, make all road signs bi-lingual so the illegals can read them better. Ya know, instead of fixing the problem.
