Winnipeg Fire crews knocked down a fire that totally destroyed a River Heights home Sunday evening.
Firefighters had earlier fought a blaze at the two-storey home at 928 McMillan Avenue early Sunday morning, but the still-smouldering fire reared its head again later in the afternoon.

Gotta love hearing Canucks cuss!
Here is one for all of you who comment on this blog…
Isn’t it kinda hypocritical that Dave allows all that cussing verbally via video on his site but doesn’t allow you all to utter anything that might remotely resemble a curse word.
Just a thought.
Rhett,
It is good to get an original thought out of you every once in a while instead of Willie ghost writing most everything.
My concern, apparently well-founded, based on your contribution to the comments section, is that children could wander over here.
The main reason for this is that it is a policy carried over from when this blog was operated by a TV station. I then followed the standards set by the news department.
In theory, with a warning on the video (which I admit I have been lax lately) at least someone doesn’t accidentally hear such awful stuff (which BTW does not offend me, though I respect that it does some of our readers).
When you scroll down the comments it is spread out there before you with no warning.
I imagine on your site there is so little of substance to talk about, that if you actually had standards and cut out the cursing in your mailbag there would be no comments.
Will this fascinating topic of whether Dave allows cursing or not in the comments be the subject of a hard hitting Fire Cricket column? Or, are you going to save this for the podcast?
Thank you so much for your inquiry. We always appreciate your input to STATter911.com. It’s like being able to sit with the adults at Christmas dinner, isn’t it?
Happy holidays Rhett.

Dave,
I apologize for trying to bring up a healthy debate. Obviously you are powerless against consistently berating me. This of course does not bother me either…I find it humorous at how inept you are at having a decent conversation with me.
I deserve some of it. I will admit that. However, mostly it just shows your insecurities.
Merry Christmas Dave

The following should be written in the Quick Start Guide for every camera:
CAUTION: Speaking while recording video images may cause you to sound like an idiot.
If the intellegence level of the camera crew is an indicator then Canadas future looks as bleak as Americas! Is everyone under 21 an idiot with no common sense these days? As for the firefighting, do a thorough overhaul. It looks bad when you burn down the customers house on the rekindle. Stay safe!
