From the AP:

A 6-alarm apartment building fire that authorities say was deliberately set in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood has injured more than a dozen people and prompted dramatic rescues.

Residents say they heard an explosion in the large building on Wardman Road just before the fire started early Monday.

Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald tells the Associated Press that a man walked into a hospital with burns and told officials he started the fire.

MacDonald says the man was arrested. His name hasn't been released and investigators weren't sure if he lived in the building or was visiting.

Firefighters rescued about 15 people, including a 6-year-old boy who was dropped from a third-floor apartment into the arms of a firefighter.

MacDonald says 10 residents, two firefighters and one police officer were taken to hospitals.

I'm nowhere near deaf, but didn't the chief say one of the Lt.'s caught him?

It really bugs me when the media can't get a story straight. Who caught the baby? A firefighter (or Lieutentant, as the BC says in his interview) or the citizen they interviewed seconds later?  I know, in the end it really doesn't matter because the baby was saved, I just feel the need to comment on the crappy job the media does when reporting this kind of stuff. It seems like they don't even bother to research or proofread anything anymore, they just throw it on the air.

Well it sounds to be that the Cheif had his info. right and the citizen  was looking for some on the air time with the news crew. NBC news showed and intervied the Lt. that save the boy. I do agree very much that the media will make it as they go just to get it on the air for a live shot . That has always buged me, I would see them report on a call that I was on. The sh t would say and come up with ,it would make me think was that the same call that I was on.  FREEDOM OF THE PRESS
