My community in the west is so blessed to have excellent funding from our city and county governments.  I'm not saying we have everything we want, but we do have everything we need to do our job professionally and well.  My heart breaks for departments that have been so stripped by their community leaders that things such as what this video shows occur.  And it's happening more and more across our nation.

Our federal government  gives financial aid to our foreign enemies…Hogwash!  How about some aid to protect our own people from the enemies of fire and crime?  How about billions spent in our own country, instead of in foreign lands where most of it ends up in their leaders' pockets?  How about Americans taking care of Americans first?

What a great quote, forgive me for paraphrasing it. "When the doors go up and the truck rolls out and smoke fills the aire, money doesn't matter."
20 years on, and FDs around the country are still facing the same problems. Ugh.
