Goner before they got there.
I’ve heard it said this department fights a lot of fires but I see no evidence of them getting any better at putting them out.
Looked more like a controlled burn to me. Just add water when you see red stuff. Urban renewal Detroit style! Burn it once and you don’t have to come back later tonight to put it out again!

At this fire I agree with you. Since it appears the house was abandoned, and their initial fire attack was ineffective, protecting exposures and letting it burn down to the foundation probably would be the best course of action.
They’ll probably go there again in the future.
Not impressed with lack of using SCBA and what was with setting up their truck and not using it? Or was it a case of if they did, they’d take the water supply away from the hose lines.
Hi guys, I was the officer of the 1st due Engine. this fire was just another everyday vacant house fire we fight, anyway we fought this fire with 1 2 1/2 inch line and 1 1 3/4 line and we were out of there in about an hour, and no damage to the exposure. I must say one thing your right about we will be back for another fire at the same place but as firemen what are we going to do we can’t tear them down! and Crowbar maybe you should come and ride with us and show us how its really done!I’ll even let you be the nozzle man. Lt. Tony B
They may fight a lot of fire, but I am not impressed.
I mean, I GUESS you could stand downwind and attack the roof that wasn’t burned through yet, OR you could stand upwind (since nobody is going to wear a pack anyway) on the camera side of the building and have a decent shot at the actual fire.
Like others said, all that “experience,” not much to show for it.
