A general alarm fire on August 3 at an apartment building in Lancaster City, Pennsylvania.
Nine displaced families totaling 27 people had sought assistance from the Red Cross as of early Friday afternoon, according to spokeswoman Melinda Guise. They were being provided with food, clothing and shelter.
Firefighters encountered heavy fire when they arrived at the apartment building, Barton said. They first attacked the fire by going inside the building.
