Can’t those engine guys throw a ground ladder to access the roof?
Holly cow batman… more worried about hooking to the hydrant than getting a line run! come on man basics you got at least 500 gallons in the tank! I agree Truckie88 on the ground ladder… Strike Da Box! K
TWO FF’s could have handled this.
That would be a great plan if they had more than 12 – 15 people on shift with the closest mutual aid nearly 45 minutes away. And water supply in town is nearly non existant even on hydrants.
Helpful hint! If you ever find yourself in Arcadia FL, Don’t eat the food!!
I did a quick look on Google maps and that building has about an 8′ parapet wall.the crew w/ext ladder went to the rear to access the actual roof. Apparently those troops knew their district.
Why did they use a “water curtain”? LOL
I’ve seen departments with 8-9 guys get a faster knock down than these guys. Throw up a ladder and get up on the roof. If manpower is the case why not put the ambulance crews to work to get a water supply? If they are properly trained to do so of course
Dave this was in the next county over from me. (check out a map, middle of nowhere). I agree with those that say they should have thrown a ladder or two and the busted hose didnt help
It is a very poor county and while the citizens are supportive of the department as a whole, they simply are not well funded. That being said, it was a great place to have as a first FD job and I’d go back if the personal economics of supporting a family were not an issue.
Just watching the video it seemed cut and dry and maybe even an easy fire… but a 6ft parapit wall, abandoned building that should be condemmed, and a broken hose complicated things. The video showed the begining of the fire not the whole thing. We had a great stop. Everyone did a great job!!!
ive seen that place before .. its outtah buisnees doee
