East Pembroke Fire Department
A car crashed into the front of the East Pembroke Fire Hall late Thursday afternoon, resulting in fire officials scrambling to remove fire department vehicles from the damaged building.
According to an eyewitness account, the driver of the vehicle may have suffered a diabetic reaction prior to the crash.

The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Troopers say the car was headed east on Route 5 when it crossed over into the westbound lane, slammed into a berm and became airborne before striking the firehouse.
The female driver apparently blacked out behind the wheel due to a medical condition. She was taken to ECMC with non-life threatening injuries.

Wow…how embarrassing for the woman. Good reminder that those of us who are “too sweet” (aka diabetic) need to carry fast acting glucose with us at all times. The sports gels, while lacking in the flavor department, will wake you right up if your insulin is a shade heavy or your blood glucose a shade too light.
I’m curious, wil her auto insurance rebuild the fire department?
That box crib makes me cringe.
Seriously, who takes care of the fire dept. Watching this makes me think of that one recurring thought I always get when watching an action movie haha. Who takes care of the cars that get trashed during wreckless car chase scenes haha?
