They went in and got it! Kudos to Stone Mountain firefighters.
Wouldn’t it be nice if the uninformed would just shut up and take the video.
I’ve gotta say, there are a ton of departments we’ve seen on here that would have immediately gone defensive on this one, considering how advanced this fire was. I was astounded and surprised to see they actually went inside and kicked the shit out of this fire. Great job, way to be aggressive and save the rest of the building. Excellent work!
Gotta agree with you on your comment .This fire was through the roof and extending horizontally fast, and an interior attack was the only way to save the complex! Great stop, as they surely earned their name “the bravest” !
Agates and R. Kramer—
What are your thoughts on using the deck gun in an offensive manner, knocking the fire back to mop up with handlines? Not saying go defensive and totally write the building off, but putting high volume of water on the fire instantly.
Hey now,,,,The boys down South know how to ” git er done “!!!!!!!
Thats how it is done! They went in and did their jobs….
Dave, I sugget a new header for videos like this :”Caution! Take Dramamine Prior To Viewing!” Wish folks would learn to hold the cameras still!
Great work, Stone Mountain!
why can’t people taking the vids stay in one spot instead of moving back and forth… good gawd! that’s enough to make you motion sick!
Good job!
Lee, I don’t think that’s a terrible option esp in a low manpower situation , but I agree with everyone else great knock ! Surprised and proud of those fellas!
How long did it take these guys to get water on this upon arrival?
Deck Gun is not a bad option ,albeit a risky one if you don’t have the manpower on the scene . I’m a believer in “hit em with your best shot ” as fast as possible , but you’ll dump the tank in less than 5 minutes if you don’t have supplies hooked up. I have seen F.D N.Y. employ these tactics and knock down big fires quick, but again they are an amazing Dept. ,and rarely “lose the block” ! This fire video shows a well orchestrated attack (interior) on a fire that could have quickly gotten out of hand if they miscalculated. Great job by Stone Mountain Ga. F.D.
Take note Yankees, the South did rise again. PG and DCFEMS woulda sent a couple in ambos to the hospital, called 3 alarms , and had 2 maydays at this gig. Excellent command and control produces a positive outcome every time .
