Didn't think you were bustin' chops. Just too much going on to do it justice. Been linking to the articles about it on FB and Twitter. The Post did it today.

Thanks Dave, I wasn't bustin' chops, just thought that it was worth mentioning. I personally think it was wrong the way DCFEMS top man handled this. Pete definitely doesn't deserve this. But then most of those affected by the current DCFEMS leader's behavior and drastic policy shifts don't deserve what he is doing to this Department. Its like being in a sinking ship and knowing that just about everyone is going down with it.

I sent it out on social media (FB & Twiiter). I have been so busy in Emmitsburg I have not had time to sit down and write something. Maybe today. Or it might be Monday. Interesting developments. I did give a quote to WTOP Radio on my thoughts about Pete's work. It is in their article.

Hey Dave, No mention of the DCFEMS sorry excuse for a Fire Chief and his ‘firing’ ooops I mean banishment of Pete Piringer to an obscure office in the DC Gov bureaucracy. By using his influence with DC Gov’s mayor he was able to accomplish this travesty. It’s a shame that the current DCFEMS Chief runs the Fire Department like he is a medieval lord.

Oh yeah, he also just issued a mass demotion list, one of the first of its kind in the history of the DCFEMS (otherwise know as DCFD).

Dave;
Have you heard that the DC Fire Chief wants to re-brand the DC Fire Department. Instead of DCFD he wants it to be known as the DC FEMS. His reason is he wants EMS to be recognized. I don't think he realizes or realized that "FEMS" in french means "females".
If he goes through with this, and he has started just check the DC Fire Department website. DC Firefighters will for ever be known throughout this countries fire services as the DC females. You know fire fighters, if they can find away to rib another fire department they will and this chief is building in a good ribbing in his re-branding.
There is nothing wrong with DCFD; there is a lot of tradition behind that acronym.
The story was in this past Sundays Washington Post, Metro Section.
