Charleston Panel to Be Announced Shortly

At 2:00 p.m. Mayor Joseph Riley of Charleston is scheduled to announce the panel that will lead the probe into the fire that killed 9 firefighters. STATter 911 has learned that the group will be lead by a fire service veteran with a great deal of experience investigating firefighter fatalities.

We have also heard some of the names of the 5 or 6 others who will make up the panel. Many of them have similar reputations in the fire service.

Unfortunately the specific names have been given to us on an off-the-record basis, but they will be made public shortly.
