Press Conference At Engine 27; St. Louis Fire; Carrying a Torch; Beer Kills

The “P” word missing.

For almost a half-hour Mayor Adrian Fenty, Police Chief Cathy Lanier and Fire Chief Dennis Rubin went through their press conference in front of Engine 27 and didn’t say the word “prostitution”. Even though it is that word that brought the cameras and reporters to the firehouse on Minnesota Avenue, NE, and was the topic of most of the questions, the city officials appeared to be doing everything they could not to mention prostitution. Finally Chief Rubin let the word fly twice in one sound bite, as he assured citizens he was standing in front of a firehouse and not a house of prostitution.

The other “P” word that seemed to be a theme of the gathering is patience. The officials all said they would provide the results into this sexual misconduct investigation as soon as it is wrapped up.
