Volunteer showing at council hearing: Taking a cue from the TriData report, the bill proposed by Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson changing the structure of the Fire Commission was introduced yesterday. Volunteers massed at the County Council chambers, clearly opposed to the bill. Instead of a commission made up of nine volunteers, the bill follows the 2004 report’s suggestion and adds civilian and career members. Click here to read the legislation.

Nick Nolte’s house burns: A $3 million dollar fire at the actor’s home on Tuesday. Nolte tried to fight the fire and was injured breaking a window. Watch the story (ignore the anchor saying the home burned down in the second story, despite the pictures showing otherwise).
