Burning car looks familiar

Rural Metro firefighters in Pima County, Arizona thought something looked familiar about the car that was on fire in front of them on Thursday afternoon. As they extinguished the blaze they realized the 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse set on fire along a dirt road looked like a fellow firefighter’s car. The firefighter’s car had been stolen the night before. He came to the scene and confirmed it.

Here is some more information from the Green Valley News & Sun:

Officers determined that the car was used for smuggling, because the front and back seats and also the dashboard had been removed. A cinder block was found near the driver’s side of the vehicle, used as a seat for whoever was driving it, reports said.
