The announced night time closing of the only ladder truck on City Island is drawing fire from citizens and firefighters. They all made it clear that, while FDNY’s Ladder 53 may have the fewest runs in the department, it is their only ladder company.
One firefighter let it be known how he feels about having to wait for a more distant ladder to arrive. He did a fake show toss similar to a more famous one seen round the world. Looks like the firefighter’s is bigger than the reporter’s size 10.
