Fire destroyed a home in Rockville, MD on Saturday, but the residents escaped without injury. Pete Piringer, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said the blaze broke out just before 12:45 PM at 713 Shetland Street.

Piringer said arriving firefighters encountered “heavy fire” on the exterior of the house as it was extending to the interior. It took firefighters about 15 to 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The fire, according to Piringer, appears to have started in an exterior wall and probably burned for some time undetected. The fire did approximately $300,000 damage to the house and contents.
