I will be the first to admit that all I know about this story is what I read in the papers and see on YouTube. Also, I have no clue if there was any detrimental impact to the firefighting operation and suspect there probably wasn’t (it looks like there is a fairly wide area between the cop car and the building). Still, this image caught my attention and probably can be used as a good reminder.
The best I can tell from looking at the video is that the closest unit to the fornt of a burning apartment building in Rohnert Park, California Wednesday evening was a police car. From listening to the interview on the tape it appears the police officer arrived on the scene first and apparently helped in evacuating the building. Firefighters are credited with rescuing an elderly woman who suffered smoke inhalation.
