At least six people are dead because of flooding in the Atlanta area. Fire and rescue crews are busy in Atlanta and surrounding counties.

The images above and below are reported to be in the Powder Springs area of Cobb County, about 20-miles west of Atlanta.

I think I will stick my neck out and tell you the flooded unit is one of the Pierces owned by Cobb County. I am also reasonably certain that is the number 6 showing on the side of the engine just above the water line. There are no two digit engines that start with 6, so if it is a 6, it is Cobb County Engine 6. Engine 6 is located in the Powder Springs area. The picture above seems to match. It is a 2005 Custom Cab Pierce Dash. Read more about the rig.

So far I have not found any details to go with these images except this line from a CNN report:

In one Powder Springs neighborhood, a fire truck floated near a cluster of two-story homes, with the charred remnants of one house smoldering a few yards from the failed response.
