Your Nation’s Capital under a blanket of snow. Blizzard warnings. Live news coverage and radio traffic.
There is about 9 inches of snow outside the world headquarters of STATter911.com in Northern Virginia and it is still falling. Snowfall totals are expected to be in the 15-25 inch range by the time it is done on Sunday. There is a blizzard warning in Prince George’s County and the rest of Southern Maryland that includes the counties of Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s. That has now been extended to the District of Columbia, Howard County in Maryland and Stafford County and Prince William County in Virginia. (UPDATE – as of 2:40 PM the blizzard warning has been dropped. 16 inches outside the door and more falling.)
While this isn’t a big deal for many of you who read STATter911.com from other parts of the country, we don’t generally handle the snow all that well in the Washington area. Even a few inches can paralyze us with fear and panic drivers. Already there is a car on its side in a ditch outside our window.
