Chicago firefighters from more than 30 companies battled an extra-alarm blaze this afternoon at two Logan Square buildings, including an auto shop, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The 3-11 fire–which sends more than 100 firefighters to the scene–started about noon in a building that houses Lucky’s Auto Parts, Inc. at 3434 W. Armitage Ave. before spreading to a neighboring building at 3432 W. Armitage, said Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado.

One firefighter was taken in good condition to St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital for heat exhaustion, fire personnel said.
