FireTruckBlog.com: New fire truck too heavy? Maybe you need a new firehouse to go with it.

Glenn Usdin found this interesting story from New York's Saranac Lake VFD for his FireTruckBlog.com. They just put in service a 21-year-old tower ladder to replace their 42 year old snorkel. While the snorkel is twice as old as the tower ladder, the newer rig is twice as heavy. The floor of the rather old firehouse can't handle the weight without some significant modifications.
