Not just one, but three separate views of stupidity on parade. It’s one thing to make a mistake and have a wreck. It’s another to have it happen because of a purposeful act due to your own impatience and/or arrogance.
It’s also bad enough that this driver in Houston, Texas would do this with just himself in the SUV, but he had two children and another adult on board. Luckily there were only minor injuries.
The wreck happened Saturday at Fannin and Naomi near Reliant Park. In the video from both the camera mounted on the side of the train and a surveillance camera above the intersection, you can see the driver maneuver his way around the crossing arm, then the train smashes into the vehicle.
Investigators tell us two adults as well as two children were inside the car when the accident happened. Amazingly they suffered only minor injuries.
That train smashed the vehicle, but remarkably everyone inside the SUV survived.
Two adults and two children were taken to the hospital.
Police said they will cite the vehicle’s driver, Raunel Arreola-Moreno, for running a red light and for going around the crossing gates.
