On its Facebook page theĀ Tucson Fire Department is calling the explosion (above) that raised the roof at a storage building yesterday (Saturday) a “flashover”. Others commenting are calling it a “backdraft” or a “smoke explosion”. After seven years of STATter911.com I’ve learned better than to offer an opinion and will let you be the judge.

The good news is there were no serious injuries in the fire at a mobile home park.

Scott Coleman, TucsonNewsNow.com:

A masonry building caught fire near I-10 and Grant on Saturday afternoon, sending smoke across the Tucson skyline.

The masonry is located within a mobile home park in the 600 block of W. Alturas Street. It did not appear there were any injuries or occupants inside the building during the fire, according to Tucson Fire Department. Flames inside the building were recorded at 700 degrees. It was a three-alarm fire.
