Several people were evacuated today because of a fire that caused extensive damage to a fourplex in the Mount Washington area of Los Angeles. The fire, on a steeply sloping lot in the 4200 block of Marmion Way, was reported around 3:55 a.m. and knocked down by 40 firefighters in 43 minutes.
