The county fire marshal’s office is blaming smoking for an early Sunday morning apartment fire in north Harris County.
At 3:22 a.m., the Aldine Fire Department responded to a a two-alarm fire in an eight-unit apartment building in the 20500 block of Aldine Westfield, north of George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Fire crews found smoke and flames coming from a second-floor balcony and the roof of the building, according to a statement from the Harris County Fire Marshal’s office.
