About 200 firefighters battled a fire — and strong winds — at a Hempstead apartment complex Thursday.
Six people were treated for smoke inhalation, WCBS 880’s Sophia Hall reported. One child suffered an asthma attack, CBS2’s Alice Gainer reported.
The fire started around 1:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of 100 Terrace Ave., authorities told Gainer. The response was raised to five alarms, and many apartments were destroyed.
