Update: 1 police officer dead 2 wounded in Virginia

 

UPDATE

According to a number of reports, rookie Officer Ashley Guindon, was sworn in yesterday and was on her first day on the street with a field training officer when she was shot and killed.

One Virginia police officer has died, and two others were hurt, after they were shot while responding to the scene of a Prince William County domestic-related shooting, police said.

The police officer who died was Officer Ashley Guindon, Prince William County Police tweeted. An officer with the same name had just been sworn in and started her job Friday

Three Prince William County Police officers were shot Saturday as they responded to the scene of a domestic-related shooting, police said.

The officers are being treated for their injuries, police tweeted. Their conditions are not yet known. 

In a brief statement, Prince William County police asked for patience as they investigated.

Police said the shooter was in custody.

The shooting happened in the 13000 block of Lashmere Court in Lake Ridge, Virginia. Several roads are blocked in the area of Quate Lane at Delaney Road during the investigation.

Three Prince William County police officers were shot and wounded Saturday evening when they responded to a call about a possible domestic matter, authorities said.

The officers were flown by helicopter to Inova Fairfax Hospital, but their conditions could not be learned immediately.

One person was taken into custody in connection with the shooting, but no information about the individual had been released as of late Saturday.
