A cellphone charger left in an outlet caused the rear portion of a Hanover Borough apartment complex to go up in flames Monday night, fire officials said.
Hanover and Penn Township fire crews responded to the fire, which happened in the 200 block of Carlisle Street, around 9 p.m. Monday, according to York County 911. The fire left a section of Carlisle and Railroad streets closed off for more than an hour.
Two residents were displaced by the fire, but no one was hurt, Hanover Fire Chief Jan Cromer said.
