UPDATE: Two firefighters killed, 1 critical in Wilmington, Delaware house fire
UPDATE: Firefighters identified during briefing about today’s fire
Two firefighters were killed and one was critically injured after a house fire in Wilmington, Delaware.
The fire started around 3:15 a.m. Saturday on the 1900 block of Lakeview Road.
Crews arrived to heavy flames and smoke with several people, including small children, trapped inside the house.

As firefighters entered the home, the floor collapsed.
Two firefighters were rescued, but one died at the hospital, and one never made it out of the rubble.

The first floor of the two-story home collapsed, trapping at least three firefighters and one civilian, according to initial reports.
Two firefighters died, a third is being treated at Christiana Hospital.
Wilmington Fire Chief Anthony Goode is expected to hold a news conference this morning to release more information.
