Video, part 1 above and and parts 2 and 3 below, from Capitol Intel Group/BBN www.capitolintelgroup.com taken during yesterday’s (Saturday) motel fire at 416 South Royal Avenue, in Front Royal, Virginia (Warren County). The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m.
Am I missing something or is the headline and some of the copy for WHSV-TV’s story about the fire overly dramatic? It sure didn’t look to me like the neighboring service station was in jeopardy.

Fire erupted in an occupied motel next door to a gas station Saturday morning. A room was fully-involved and flames climbed into the roof and spread laterally.
That’s according to descriptions and photos posted on the department’s official Facebook page. Soon it was a 2-alarm fire: “A second alarm of 3 engine companies and 2 additional truck companies was requested,” said the department.
Firefighters knocked the fire back before any neighboring buildings —including the gas station— caught fire.
