There’s a good chance it will go viral when the interaction between those in public safety and wild animals is captured on video. Such is the case of the video (above) showing a violent confrontation Sunday between a Carroll County, Maryland sheriff’s deputy and a groundhog. Certainly not as cute as Punxsutawney Phil, but this video is being shown over and over and on so many news and other websites, along with being shared on social media, that it will soon seem as repetitive as the plot of Groundhog Day. Who you gonna call when a family of raccoons falls through your ceiling? 911 of course. That resulted in this video Saturday from Albion (Michigan) Department of Public Safety. In the roundup, one firefighter was bitten by mama raccoon. Read more here.
And for good measure, I threw in the final story. It’s from mid-April and is about the pet raccoon who had too much marijuana. The raccoon’s owner brought the animal to Wayne Township (IN) Station 82. While, there was confusion, at first, about what kind of drugs the raccoon was on, at least they knew where to find the best munchies.
