Maryland firefighter dies after collapsing at house fire

A Montgomery County, Maryland Firefighter died tonight while at a house fire in the 15000 block of Bradford Drive in the community of West Laurel in Prince George’s County. Montgomery County Fire Chief Corey Smedley made the announcement shortly after 10:00 p.m. with County Executive Marc Elrich at Adventist Health Care White Oak Hospital.
The firefighter was 46-years-old and a 22-year career firefighter in Montgomery County. He collapsed on the fireground in the 5:00 p.m hour and was in cardiac arrest. Paramedics worked on the firefighter and took him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body will taken to the Maryland State Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore.
