Fire yesterday evening in Jackson, Michigan.

Crews were called to the home at 1311 Lansing Avenue shortly after 6 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the entire front of the structure engulfed in flames, said Jackson Deputy Fire Chief David Wooden.

 

Because the gas meter inside the home was compromised in the fire, Wooden said crews from Consumers Energy are digging up the gas line outside to turn it off. Flames could be seen coming from the gas meter on the side of the home.
