Caught on video: Baltimore police protester runs into burning rowhouse to help put out fire

This is an odd story. If you have been following the news, you are probably aware of the protests in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray. Gray’s spinal cord was severed while he was in police custody April 12 and he died a week later. There have been ongoing protests at the Western District Police Station on North Mount Street.

Yesterday (Tuesday), a fire broke out in a house across the street from the police station (see the video above). One of the people who ran in to help put out the fire is well known to the Baltimore Police Department and is someone we previously told you about.

His name is AF James MacArthur. MacArthur runs a news site called the Baltimore Spectator. In December 2012 we told you how MacArthur was barricaded in his Baltimore home and at the same time live streaming on his blog about the negotiations to get him to surrender (read that story here).
