These days it’s a position that doesn’t have a lot of longevity with it. But Ed Lehan is the next to give it a try. The veteran Prince George’s County volunteer and D.C. firefighter, Lehan is now the acting chief of the Kentland Volunteer Fire Department. He replaces Tony Kelleher who replaced Mike Mattison.

It’s Chief Lehan who is now under orders from PGFD Chief Lawrence Sedgwick to get Ambulance 339 running out of Station 33. With Tony Kelleher’s suspension a week ago, PGFD made it clear in a press release that the responsibility would fall to the next in line. Here are the relevant excerpts.

The Fire/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department will now confer with the next volunteer chief in the chain-of-command.

The volunteer leadership at Kentland Station 33 will be granted a limited amount of time to comply with orders to place the ambulance into service or face additional sanctions.
