Since we brought you the news last Friday about the takeover of the Gainesville District Volunteer Fire Department in Prince William County STATter 911 has received more than 100 comments (here and here). Many of those comments have centered on the actions of Prince William County Fire & Rescue Department Chief Kevin McGee. Depending on your point of view Chief McGee has been a hero or a villain over how the issue was handled.
Through his staff, Chief McGee contacted STATter 911 and asked us to run what he has called an “Open Letter to the Prince William County Fire & Rescue Service”. We were told we have been sent the letter as part of an effort to reach as many members of the county fire service as possible with this message.
