A power line that fell from a burning apartment building in Detroit last night, draping across a ladder truck and trapping at least one firefighter until the arrival of the power company. Another firefighter was treated and released for burns received while fighting the fire.
Crews responded to a fire on Boston, near Dexter, Wednesday night. It was around 10:30 p.m. and fire and smoke were pouring out of the building.
But as crews worked to rescue the apartment residents, they soon learned one of their own was in trouble.
The fire had seared off a power line, dropping the live wire on top of a firetruck with a firefighter inside.
DTE Energy responded to the scene. Power crews cut electricity going to the wire and the emergency worker was able to exit the truck safely.

According to Senior Chief Douglas Lyon, the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. at a two-story structure in the 3720 block of Boston Boulevard, near Dexter Avenue, in the area of Joy Road and Interstate 96.
“It was a one-alarm blaze and one firefighter was burned,” Lyons said. “He was treated at a local hospital and released.”
The fire initially started at a single apartment in a building on Boston Boulevard at Dexter Avenue, but then exploded into the entire upper half of the building.
The five families in the building were able to get out safely, but it was hard for them to watch their homes burn.
