UPDATE
At a press conference tonight (Monday) it was announced that 48-year-old Stephen Arkell, an officer with New Hampshire’s Brentwood Police Department, was shot and killed in a domestic incident this afternoon that lead to the fire & explosion.
Attorney General Joseph Foster announced Monday night that Officer Stephen Arkell was shot and killed when he entered the home at 46 Mill Pond Road in response to a call about a domestic dispute.
According to Foster, Arkell was shot by Michael Nolan, 47, who subsequently died during either the fire or explosion at the Brentwood home.
A second officer tried to enter the home after Arkell was shot, but was “driven out by gunfire,” according to Foster.
