There was a Monday night fireball outside of the stadium where Monday Night Football was being played. As the Washington Redskins were feeling the heat from the Pittsburgh Steelers, nine cars were damaged by fire in a parking lot at FedEx Field in Landover, MD.

Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department Chief Spokesman Mark Brady blames the fire on careless tailgating. Investigators have determined a fan placed a recently used barbecue grill inside the trunk of a car, with hot coals still inside the grill. It was at 8:30 PM when a 911 call reported a fire in the Orange Lot, Section H34. Four engines, including one assigned to the stadium complex for events, responded to the fire. Damage to the 9 cars is estimated at $150,000.

It was a bad night all around at FedEx field. The Redskins lost 23 to 6.
