Crews were dispatched to a two story apartment complex with reports of heavy fire near 12th St and Indian School. First arriving crew got on the scene and found an apartment complex under construction fully involved. Command took a defensive posture and the assignment was balanced to a first alarm. Crews were placed on all four sides of the apartment to protect the surround structures. Later into the assignment command requested a 2nd alarm. Crews were able to achieve knockdown on the fire approximately 45 minutes into the fire fight. Crews will remain on the scene over the next couple hours to put out all remaining hotspots. No firefighters were injured.
