President George W. Bush meets with the family of Russell B. Schwantes, an Atlanta, GA firefighter who died in the line of duty in 2006. Joining the Atlanta group is DC Fire & EMS Chief Dennis Rubin, Atlanta’s former fire chief. During the ceremony, President Bush promised to break the logjam that has held up or denied federal benefits to the Schwantes family and others, whose loved one died of a heart attack or stroke.
